CRAIG JEFFCOTT
Phd MA MSc
RESEARCHER + DESIGNER
I am an interdisciplinary designer and researcher, with a particular interest in speculative design for community engagement with biological and environmental issues.
AS A DESIGNER
I have over a decade of experience of speculative, user-experience, service and graphic design, including experience of managing complex projects for internal and external users, alongside an incredibly broad knowledge base spanning design, biomedical and health sciences, scientific culture studies, qualitative social research, and educational technologies.
AS A RESEARCHER
I hold a PhD (with Distinction Cum Laude) in Design from IADE Universidade Europeia, Lisbon, defending a thesis titled Biodiverse Futures: Speculative Design for Community Biodiversity Activism.
I also hold:
an MA in Interaction Design from Goldsmiths, University of London. Building on my existing design practice, this creative and experimental programme has given me a unique cross-disciplinary perspective and toolkit of methods to engage with technology in society through design
MSc degrees in Learning Technologies (Birkbeck, University of London), Science, Culture and Communication (University of Bath), and Medical Genetics (University of Glasgow), and undergraduate degrees in Dental Sciences (BMedSci) and Pharmacology (BSc)
